International students who have been accepted and intend to start their studies in the Summer II session must enroll in the Virginia Tech Summer Academy (VTSA). International students on an F1 visa must make sure that their I-20 reflects their actual start date.
Students who have been admitted for Fall but decide to attend the VTSA must request a change to their program start date via Cranwell International Center and will be issued a new I-20 which will be mailed at their own expense. Similarly, students wanting to start in Summer II should check if space is available to attend VTSA before requesting a revised program start date.
If your I-20 reflects a Summer II start date you will be expected to enroll full time in Summer II classes via VTSA and report to the Cranwell International Center. Failure to enroll and report will result in the termination of your SEVIS record.
International students should contact Cranwell International Center for assistance in completing the appropriate travel documents. Staff in the center may be contacted via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or 540-231-6527. To learn more about this center and its resources, visit www.international.vt.edu.
